THE LAND
Paros, with an area of 200 km2 and a coastal length
of 118 km, is one of the largest islands in Cyclades
the other two being Naxos and Andros.
Its landscape, with the mountainous part in the centre,
has made it easy to create a road net encompassing the
island, giving thus easy access to the whole length
of coastline with the numerous bays and the sandy beaches.
Another important characteristic of the island is its
rich aquifer stratum, which guarantees the availability
of water throughout the whole year.

TRANSPORTATION
Due to advantageous position in the centre of the Cyclades,
Paros is a junction point giving access to the rest
of the Cyclades and the Central Aegean. Ferries come
by the tens transiting to Pireaus, the Cycladic islands,
Dodecanese, Crete, Sporades and Thessalonica.
There is also an air route connecting the island with
the capital with a lot of flights a day. Travelling
times, to and from Athens, are: 4 hours by ferry, 2,5
hours by highspeed ferry and 30 minutes by plane.
MULTICHARACTER
On Paros, you can find the kind of vacation you wish:
The absolute tranquillity of a small remote beach or
the cosmopolitan atmosphere of one of the many organized
beaches with lots of beach-bars. Enjoying your coffee
in some remote mountain village or your drink in one
of the numerous clubs of the island.
And of course, fresh fish which is quaranteed by the
fishing fleet of the island.

FOR THE FRIENDS OF WINDSURFING
The "meltemia", the fresh northern breezes, which make
the hot summer months tolerable, create the ideal conditions,
along certain coasts, for windsurfing lovers.
It was not a coincidence that P.W.A. (Professional Windsurfers
Association) have selected Paros as one of the five sites
for the World Championship events.
THE PEOPLE
Without any doubt no one can claim that the increase in tourism has left the island and its inhabitants unaffected. Nevertheless, the people of Paros are outgoing and friendly, with a strong sense of hospitality, which can be easily seen in everyday contacts with the locals, especially during the off season period.
EASY TO BUILD
Because of the extensive rebuilding of the island during
the last decades, all the means needed for the fast construction
of a building are available.
- Units of ready made concrete.
- Quarries and factories for the finishing of the famous
Parian marble.
- Factories manufacturing doors and traditional furniture.
- Many experienced and qualified architects, contractors
and craftsmen with a vast knowledge of the traditional
cycladic architecture.
